Part‑Time Senior Vendor Relations & Negotiation Specialist – Work from Home (U.S. Company)
We are GuildSteam, a U.S. (Tennessee)-based company that connects global talent with U.S. companies. We are seeking an experienced professional Vendor Relations & Negotiation Specialist (3 years experience) to join our client’s team. Part‑time Remote Role
Working Hours (Remote Fixed Schedule): 4 hours between 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM South Africa Standard Time (SAST) – flexible. (Matching 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Mountain Time – US)
Starting Pay: ZAR 2800 per week
Hours per week: 20 hours

Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate pricing and terms with existing and new vendors to improve margins and overall cost structure.
- Analyze vendor quotes and identify opportunities for cost savings or better value.
- Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual benefit and long‑term collaboration.
- Monitor vendor performance, quality, pricing consistency, lead times and provide feedback or corrective action as needed.
- Benchmark vendor pricing against competitors and industry standards.
- Work closely with internal teams to understand material part or service needs before engaging vendors.
- Maintain clear documentation of all communications, quotes and pricing agreements.
- Suggest opportunities for vendors to provide added services or better terms (e.g. faster turnaround, lower minimums, bulk discounts)
Requirements
- Proven experience in vendor negotiation, procurement or supply‑chain management (3 years).
- Excellent spoken and written English for direct communication with vendors (phone, email, meetings).
- Strong analytical and research skills for comparing pricing, quality and terms.
- Confident and persuasive communication style while maintaining professionalism.
- High attention to detail and organization in tracking vendor agreements and follow‑ups.
- Proactive, resourceful and capable of identifying new vendor opportunities.
- Reliable internet, functional computer and quiet work environment.
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Skills
- Experience in manufacturing, fabrication or materials procurement (especially sheet goods, hardware, CNC supplies or auto parts).
- Background in supply‑chain optimization or vendor consolidation initiatives.
