Job summary

A leading logistics company in Kempton Park seeks a CCT Controller to manage the transport of goods and ensure timely deliveries. CCT Controller

Role Outline

The CCT Controller will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating the movement of goods and vehicles/trucks to ensure timely, sale and efficient delivery by executing the planning in an end-to-end process – e.g. from loading to offloading. The role ensures and executes the efficient flow of goods, and provides operational support to drivers, clients, and internal stakeholders to maintain service excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regularly monitor and report on key performance indicators such as cost per mile, load-to-truck ratio, and driver efficiency
  • Monitor the status of shipments and truckloads in transit to ensure they arrive on time and provide status updates to customers
  • Transport Planning & Coordination
  • Executes planning and scheduling vehicles/trucks for local deliveries
  • Track shipments in real-time to ensure on-time delivery
  • Capture and verify transport data on the system (e.g. trip sheets, PODs, fuel usage)
  • Support adherence to company transport policies, SOPs and safety standards
  • Report and document incidents and accidents
  • Communicate with drivers regarding schedules, documentation, and operational updates
  • Liaise with internal departments (Finance, Warehousing) and external service providers
  • Provide support to clients on queries
  • On-time departure and delivery rate
  • Maintain and update the Combined Load Register daily to ensure accurate tracking of loads
  • Provide assistance during leave periods, ensuring responsibilities are managed effectively
  • Due to the nature of the role, the individual may be required to work outside of normal operating hours as and when business needs arise
Qualifications
  • Matric
  • Degree/Diploma in Logistics/Transport Management (advantageous)
Experience
  • 1-3 years experience in transport/logistics environment
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, transport management systems)
  • Good analytical and numerical skills
