This opportunity is open to trainees entering the 2nd or 3rd year of their training in September 2024.

Our service has a broad and continually expanding remit within the local authority with a strong drive to promote inclusive practice and enhance the learning of all children and young people.

We have a central role across the local authority in relation to social emotional and mental health being a lead partner in the Mental Health Support Teams in schools with a specific focus on developing a whole school approach through a comprehensive learning and development offer which enables systemic working. This covers a wider range of topics which includes developing and embedding Emotion Coaching practice, the training and supervision of Emotional Literacy Support Assistants as well as provide training and support in relation to Therapeutic Story Writing amongst other things. In addition to this we provide a comprehensive offer to schools in relation to supporting children in care.

Throughout your time with us we can guarantee excellent supervision alongside exciting and varied opportunities to develop your skills in applying psychology with colleagues who are both supportive and highly effective practitioners. If you are interested in this opportunity and can demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, enthusiasm and willingness to learn from the opportunities available to you from the outset we would love to hear from you.

Travel is an essential part of this job and therefore it would be extremely difficult for you to do your job effectively if you did not use a car for all or most of the time. It is essential that you hold a full and valid driving licence and have a car available for work. All employed TEPs are eligible for an Essential Car User Allowance as part of their contract.

An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required for this job. A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
