R35 – R40,000 CTC per month

The Teaching and Learning Manager plays a key role in enhancing academic quality and innovation in an online education environment. This role involves strategic leadership, lecturer development, student support, and ensuring compliance with higher education regulations. The position requires a strong understanding of teaching methodologies, digital learning, and academic excellence within the higher education sector.

Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s degree or higher in Education or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in teaching and learning, preferably in higher education.
  • Experience with higher education regulatory frameworks.
  • Background in lecturer development, assessment strategies, and reflective practice.
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning abilities.
  • Expertise in online learning methodologies and digital education tools.
  • Understanding of NQF, SAQA, CHE, DHET, and HEQSF regulations.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to implement teaching and learning innovations.
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Strategy: Drive excellence in teaching and learning through strategic planning and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with higher education quality standards and regulations.
  • Lead the implementation of innovative teaching methodologies.
  • Lecturer Development: Provide training and support to lecturers on effective teaching practices.
  • Implement strategies to enhance active learning and reflective practice.
  • Oversee peer reviews and lecturer development plans.
  • Student Support & Online Learning: Develop and implement strategies to improve the student learning experience.
  • Promote the adoption of modern online teaching methods and best practices.
  • Oversee digital learning resources and ensure their effectiveness.
  • Collaboration & Professional Development: Work closely with academic departments and committees to improve teaching and learning initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of scholarship and continuous learning.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with industry and academic experts.
  • Administrative & Compliance Duties: Monitor and report on the impact of teaching and learning initiatives.
  • Support policy development and compliance with academic regulations.
  • Assist in the execution of teaching and learning strategies in collaboration with leadership.
