Job summary

A leading manufacturing and FMCG company is looking for a Raw Materials Supply Chain Specialist to manage inbound raw materials and bulk liquid operations. This role involves overseeing inventory management, supplier coordination, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. The ideal candidate should have a BCom in Supply Chain Management and a minimum of 5 years' experience in supply chain operations, particularly within FMCG. Advanced ERP proficiency, especially in Syspro, is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in supply chain, inventory management, or warehousing, preferably in FMCG.
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (Syspro preferred), Translution, and Excel (macros, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, index/match, pivot tables).
  • Strong knowledge of stock control, warehouse operations, and material reconciliation.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and confirm weekly delivery schedules.
  • Oversee all raw material and bulk liquid inventory management.
  • Manage inbound and outbound stock, including third-party storage transfers.
  • Drive supplier management and resolve quality issues.
  • Process raw material receipts in Syspro ERP.

Overview

A leading manufacturing and FMCG company is seeking a Raw Materials Supply Chain Specialist to manage inbound raw materials and bulk liquid operations across multiple sites. This is a hands-on role overseeing inventory management, ERP processing, stock reconciliation, and supplier coordination, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, HACCP, and other food safety standards. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and experienced in supply chain operations within FMCG or manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and confirm weekly delivery schedules, ensuring alignment with operational plans.
  • Oversee all raw material and bulk liquid inventory management, including:
    • Receipts, housekeeping, and quality inspections
    • Segregation of damaged or substandard materials
    • FIFO/FEFO compliance and warehouse space optimisation
    • Bulk liquid movements (Molasses, Nitrogen, Ammonia, Sulphuric Acid, Phosphoric Acid, Caustic Soda Lye)
    • Weekly and month-end stock counts, variance reporting, and batch tracking
  • Manage inbound and outbound stock, including third-party storage transfers, pallet labelling, and break-bulk inspections.
  • Drive supplier management and resolve quality issues to ensure OTIF (On-Time-In-Full) deliveries.
  • Maintain all supplier and product documentation (TDS, COA, MSDS, ISO, FSSC, HACCP, Kosher, Halaal).
  • Process raw material receipts in Syspro ERP, manage non-stock purchase orders, and oversee waste control.
  • Support warehouse operations and equipment maintenance.
  • Execute material replenishment planning for Durban and Johannesburg sites.
Requirements
  • BCom in Supply Chain Management or related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in supply chain, inventory management, or warehousing, preferably in FMCG
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (Syspro preferred), Translution, and Excel (macros, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, index/match, pivot tables)
  • Preferably experienced in Power BI
  • Strong knowledge of stock control, warehouse operations, and material reconciliation
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently, and as part of a team
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to operational excellence
