A leading automotive manufacturer in South Africa is seeking an experienced individual to oversee the planning and implementation of production processes for new model launches at the Silverton Assembly Plant. The candidate will lead cross-functional teams and ensure all program aspects are delivered on time, within cost, and safety standards. A Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 10 years' manufacturing experience are essential, along with strong leadership and communication skills. Primarily responsible for Planning and implementation of production processes and facilities for all new model Launch & Facility activities for Stamping assembly at the Silverton Assembly Plant. Responsible for working with cross-functional teams (PD, STA, Suppliers, VME Core & Advanced Engineering and Facilities Engineering) to achieve LQOS deliverables for new model launch. Provide guidance to plant launch engineering team on new model engineering requirements. Responsible for coordinating and supporting Stamping VME related activities Key responsibilities of the position are as follows:

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or PROVEN relevant experience
  • ≥ 10 years’ experience in Manufacturing
  • One major program launch (UP / UN> 4) as LL6 Leader
  • Working Knowledge of MDQOS Deliverables such as tooling development, LQOS, TCE, PFMEA, SCCAFs, Health Charts
  • Understanding of relationships between VME, NMP&L, Program management and Operations through Launch Phase of a vehicle
  • Communication skills consistent with reporting out to Senior management and Director leadership
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office package (World/Excel/ Power Point/ Project), TCE (Teamcenter), 3D Viewer.
  • Proficiency in English
Responsibilities

Responsible for coordinating and supporting Stamping VME related activities Key responsibilities of the position are as follows:

  • Lead Stamping team onsite thru all program milestones (DCV, LR, TT, PP, OKTB)
  • Coordinate Mfg. Readiness / scorecard deliverables through gateways (VTTO DCV, PCF, TTO-TT, PP, MP1 and MP2)
  • Ensure all aspects of the program are delivered within cost and safety
  • Develop SOW’s associated with Tooling and Equipment along with Installations SOW’s.
  • Develop Master Schedule for design, build and implementation of Tooling and facilities
  • Use virtual tools to evaluate tooling feasibility of new model designs
  • Facilitate manufacturing engineering process development and operation within involved areas (BCE, TCF, Paint Shop, DCD), ensuring process compliance according Mfg. standards and leading to excellence.
  • Lead identification, resolution and closure of Stamping feasibility issues, as well the Stamping process definition, Die Design Review, Die Construction FUP, Buy Off, HLTO activities and PSW approval)
  • In charge of product engineering changes reporting and managing impact in terms of costs, timing, complexity, implementation strategy and release.
  • Incorporate innovative technologies & automation into the tooling development to improve delivery & quality.
  • Provide refined feedback for desktop / advanced studies on time.
  • Teach, coach, and develop training plans for all employees in your span of control.
