A leading educational institution is looking for a Solar (PV) Compliance Site Manager for a fixed term contract in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, 5 years of experience in compliance, and strong knowledge of solar PV systems. We are seeking a Solar (PV) Compliance Site Manager for a fixed term contract role based in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape.

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/BTech or similar qualification with Qualification in OHS
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in compliance, construction, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of solar PV systems and construction methods
  • Experience in managing EPC contractors and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Strong knowledge of South African laws and regulations relevant to the renewable energy sector
  • Auditing proficiency & OSHA 10 or 30 certification required
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound ethical judgments
  • Valid drivers and ability to travel within South Africa

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure the EPC contractor's activities comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including but not limited to:
  • Eskom's grid connection requirements
  • Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality's bylaws and regulations
  • SANRAL's requirements for road access and usage
  • Department of Labour's health and safety regulations
  • Other relevant authorities' requirements
  • Contract Management: Monitor and enforce the EPC contractor's compliance with the terms and conditions of the contract, including compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and identify potential non-compliances.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records and submit reports to relevant authorities, African Pioneer Energy, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with relevant authorities, stakeholders, and the EPC contractor to ensure compliance and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure the EPC contractor maintains a safe working environment and complies with all health and safety regulations.
  • Environmental Compliance: Ensure the EPC contractor complies with all environmental regulations and requirements.

Salary: R800000 per annum max CTC for the ideally matched candidate
