A regional health board in Scotland is seeking a social care worker to assist with the development of services at the Mackenzie resource centre for older adults. The role involves working alongside healthcare teams and providing support to individuals with dementia, especially those experiencing stress and distress. Candidates must be available some weekends as the service expands to 7 days. Experience in person-centred care is necessary. The position is based in Newcastle Local Municipality, KwaZulu-Natal.
The Mackenzie resource centre for older adults is seeking to recruit a team member to a social care worker role to assist with the development of the service. The post is based at the centre which at present operates a five-day service 0900-1600hrs Monday to Friday; plans are to expand this service to 7 days opening so availability to work some weekends will be required. The role also requires an understanding of outcomes focussed person centred working and experience of supporting people living with dementia who are displaying stress and distress. You will work alongside social care and healthcare colleagues following a programme of input for individuals who attend Mackenzie centre and will have the opportunity to undertake keyworker roles.
