Overview

Role: Showroom Consultant (Interior Design / Homeware) | Location: Somerset West, Western Cape | Employer: leading supplier of high-quality fabrics, rugs, wallpaper and homeware for local and international markets

Dates: 2025-09-22 to 2025-10-20 | Status: Permanent | Code: SW005710 | Sector: Retail

This position will suit a candidate who is vibrant and passionate about homeware / décor, with excellent retail sales experience.

Responsibilities
  • Meet showroom sales budget
  • Maintain showroom standards and operations
  • Build productive relationships with customers (including customers of sales consultants)
  • Handle complaints and queries (customer & sales consultants)
  • Product allocations and stock levels managed at showroom level
  • Consignment deliveries
  • Supporting the team and customers
  • Support payment processes
  • General ad hoc duties as per business requirements
Minimum requirements
  • National senior certificate
  • At least 3 years sales experience in a retail environment (preferably for a luxury brand) with experience working on point of sale
  • Knowledge of homeware products advantageous
  • Experience in conducting and managing regular stock takes
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Customer service focused and orientated
  • Highly sales driven and focused on achieving the end result
  • Must be professional and well presented
  • Self-motivated
  • General business acumen
  • Honesty in the handling of cash or finances

Working Hours: Monday to Friday and every second Saturday
