This is a critical leadership role for a team player who is strong and resilient — someone who can unify stakeholders, lead with authority, and ensure our factory not only passes audits but becomes a benchmark for excellence.

A SHEQ Manager in FMCG or food manufacturing ensures compliance with Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality regulations by developing and implementing management systems, conducting risk assessments, leading investigations into incidents, and promoting a strong SHEQ culture throughout the organization. Key duties include managing audit schedules, overseeing corrective actions, conducting training, monitoring performance via KPIs, and staying updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes to ensure food and worker safety and product quality.

POSITION INFO :

Responsibilities
  • Policy Development & Implementation : Create and maintain SHEQ policies and comprehensive management systems to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Regulatory Compliance : Ensure the facility adheres to all local, national, and international Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) laws and standards.
  • Risk Management : Conduct regular risk assessments to identify hazards, evaluate potential risks, and implement appropriate controls and preventive measures.
  • Incident Management : Lead thorough investigations into incidents, performing root cause analyses and developing effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Auditing and Inspections : Plan and oversee both internal and external SHEQ audits and inspections to verify compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Cultural Promotion : Foster and embed a strong culture of safety, health, and quality among all employees and departments.
  • Training and Guidance : Provide necessary SHEQ-related training and ongoing guidance to employees to ensure understanding and compliance.
  • Performance Monitoring : Track and report on key SHEQ performance indicators (KPIs) and progress towards objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement : Collaborate with stakeholders and implement initiatives to drive ongoing improvement in SHEQ performance.
  • Documentation & Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, audits, training, and other SHEQ-related activities.
Qualifications
  • A relevant national diploma or degree in a field such as Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Quality Management, or Food Technology.
  • Significant experience (often 5+ years) in a SHEQ or Quality Assurance role, ideally within the food manufacturing or sector.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems like FSSC 22000 and relevant ISO standards.
  • Proven experience with audit preparation and management.
