Job description
SENIOR MEAT DEBONING/PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR, GAUTENG

Salary: R480,000 – 600,000 tctc per annum

Location: Gauteng Central, G1203 MARIANA (Gauteng)

We are seeking a Senior Meat Deboning/Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations in the Deboning Hall of our unionised red meat abattoir, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, safety protocols and regulatory compliance are consistently met.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations in the Deboning Hall and ensure production targets are achieved.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily and weekly production schedules.
  • Track line productivity, monitor weights, packaging waste and report daily yields.
  • Implement the company’s Quality Policy and ensure adherence to FSMS, QA, HR policies, SOPs and labour legislation.
  • Drive a culture of health and safety, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Supervise, guide, and coach production staff, monitor productivity and identify training needs.
  • Prepare performance reports and present them to senior managers.
  • Report to the Production Manager and participate in departmental meetings on product quality and processes.
Qualifications
  • ND / B.Tech / B.Sc in Food Science, Production Management or Industrial Engineering.
  • HACCP, FSSC 22000, or BRC certification.
  • 3–5 years of experience in regulatory compliance and supervision in a unionised red meat abattoir, deboning or fresh meat plant.
  • Strong leadership skills, attention to detail and understanding of meat processing techniques and food safety standards.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and ability to enforce them.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and reporting skills.
