Job Description

As the chief engineer of electronics and firmware, you will lead technical excellence in these areas within the defence and aerospace sectors.

This senior role is perfect for an accomplished engineer who possesses a passion for innovation and has a proven track record of leadership in complex engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the design authority in electronics and firmware, overseeing complex system designs to ensure technical excellence.
  • Guide, review, and approve design activities to guarantee compliance, manufacturability, and performance integrity.
  • Provide technical mentorship and develop engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
  • Support opportunity evaluation, feasibility studies, and bid development.
  • Collaborate with other senior engineers and executive leadership to align technical strategy with organisational objectives.
  • Drive research, process improvement, and intellectual property generation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, specialising in RF Electronics or Firmware.
  • 10+ years' experience in relevant engineering disciplines with proven technical leadership.
  • Recognised subject matter expert in your field (e.g., embedded systems, firmware development, electromagnetic simulation, or structural mechanics).
  • Strong familiarity with defence and aerospace standards (e.g., MIL-STD, STANAG, IEC, ISO).
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, FEKO, HFSS, CST, or similar simulation / analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated track record in innovation and intellectual property development.
