Job summary

A leading energy solutions company in Pretoria is seeking a Senior Design Draughtsman – Mechanical to design and develop drawings for various mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a draughting certificate and at least 5 years of experience, along with proficiency in Inventor and AutoCAD. This role provides opportunities for growth into managerial positions within an expanding department. A driver’s license is required, and occasional travel will be needed.

Qualifications

Diesel Electric Services is a turnkey energy solutions company with a 30 year track record in the industry.

The company designs, builds, installs and commissions a wide variety of power generation and energy products.

The company serves a wide range of industries, from telecommunications to mining.

The company requires the services of a senior design draughtsman – mechanical, on a full time basis. Purpose of the role is to design and develop drawings for a wide range of mechanical systems including equipment enclosures, plantroom layouts, containerised equipment layouts, piping systems, generating set base frames, miscellaneous mechanical structures and layouts.

Outputs are general arrangement drawings, shop drawings, bill of material.

Candidate will also be expected to complete basic engineering calculations and work with design engineers and project managers.

The bulk of the design and draughting work will be done on Inventor. Growth opportunities into a managerial position exist, with the department expanding.

Qualifications

Draughting certificate. Experience: 5 years minimum, 10 years preferable. Must have a good understanding of mechanical fabrication and joining processes, sheetmetal, piping fabrication, mechanical assemblies.

Skills

InventorSkills: AutoCAD. Inventor. Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

BIM (beneficial).

Revit (beneficial).
