A leading recruitment agency is assisting an education NGO in searching for a Senior Accountant based in Pretoria. The role involves overseeing accounting functions, ensuring compliance, and providing financial insights. Ideal candidates will have at least 7 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Salary ranges between R55k - R75k per month.

Qualifications

Overview

Lexdan Select is assisting an education NGO in their search for a senior accountant, based in Pretoria.

Salary on offer is between R55k - R75k p.m

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and analyse budgets, forecasts, and donor financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and donor requirements.
• Support annual audits and maintain strong internal controls.
• Provide financial insights to management and programme teams.
• Supervise and mentor junior finance staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Honours or Professional Qualification advantageous – e.g., SAIPA, CIMA, ACCA).
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in accounting/finance, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Previous experience in an NGO or donor-funded environment highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, GRAP, and donor compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Pastel, Draftworks, or similar).
