Role Description

The SEO Specialist helps clients' websites rank on Google by executing SEO tasks such as writing page titles and descriptions, adding keywords, checking indexing, fixing SEO issues, setting up schema, ensuring NAP consistency, and building city pages.

They monitor performance in Google Search Console and make ongoing improvements.

The SEO Specialist focuses on strategy and execution, while developers handle technical builds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute SEO onboarding & recurring tasks: technical audits, architecture checks, indexing fixes, page speed improvements, content audits.
  • Local SEO setup & optimization: NAP workbook, competitor/SERP research, Google Business Profile optimization, local rank tracking.
  • Manage citations & directory listings: audit, update, build citations; submit to aggregators (Data Axle, Neustar, Foursquare); optimize listings (Yelp, BBB, niche directories).
  • Support on‑page SEO & content updates: update titles, H1s, meta descriptions, schema, internal linking; optimize location/service pages; Screaming Frog crawls.
  • Review & reputation management: set up GHL snapshots, monitor reviews, flag negatives.
  • Backlink tasks: submissions, directories, outreach follow‑ups, documentation, monthly quotas.
  • Monitor performance & reporting: track rankings, traffic, GBP metrics, citations; detect issues; prepare reporting data.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Task Turnaround Time – onboarding and monthly tasks delivered on schedule.
  • Accuracy of Execution – zero errors in NAP/citations; clean GBP optimizations.
  • Ranking & Local Visibility – upward keyword movement; growth in GBP views/calls.
  • Citation & Backlink Delivery – quota of high‑quality citations/backlinks met monthly.
  • Issue Detection & Resolution – fast identification and fixes for SEO issues.
Requirements
  • 2–4+ years hands‑on SEO execution (traditional + local).
  • Technical SEO familiarity: Screaming Frog, indexing, speed, architecture.
  • Proven ranking improvements for local/service‑based businesses.
  • GBP optimization, citation management, Maps Pack ranking.
Tools & Skills
  • Proficiency with SEMrush, Screaming Frog, BrightLocal / Local Viking / Search Atlas, Google Analytics & Search Console, WhiteSpark, Loganix.
  • Strong written English, attention to detail, organized execution.
  • Familiarity with SOP‑driven workflows.
  • Content brief support & keyword research.
  • Basic HTML/CSS understanding.
