A dynamic company is seeking a SAQCC Fire Detection Technician to install, service, and maintain fire detection systems with a strong focus on pipe fitting and system integration. The ideal candidate should have valid SAQCC registration, relevant experience, and sound knowledge of SANS standards. This position offers site-based work that may require after-hours and standby duties, and could be permanent or contract-based.
A dynamic company is seeking a SAQCC Fire Detection Technician (Pipe Fitting Experience) to install, service, test, and maintain fire detection and fire protection systems in accordance with SAQCC, SANS standards, and company quality and safety requirements, with a strong focus on pipe fitting and system integration.
Install, service, and maintain fire detection systems (addressable and conventional)
Carry out fire protection pipe fitting including cutting, threading, grooving, and installing steel, copper, and CPVC piping
Install and maintain detectors, panels, cabling, and related fire equipment
Conduct testing, commissioning, fault-finding, and system handovers
Ensure compliance with SANS 10139, SANS 1475, SANS 10400-T, and SAQCC regulations
Read and interpret technical drawings, layouts, and schematics
Complete inspection checklists, service reports, and compliance documentation
Liaise with clients, site managers, and inspectors during installations and audits
Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good condition
Adhere strictly to health, safety, and quality standards on site
SAQCC Fire Detection Technician registration (valid and in good standing)
Proven experience in fire detection systems installation and maintenance
Pipe fitting experience within fire protection systems (sprinkler / detection integration)
Sound knowledge of relevant SANS standards
Ability to work independently and on construction or industrial sites
Valid driver’s licence
SAQCC registration in Fire Suppression (advantage)
Trade qualification in plumbing, pipe fitting, or mechanical installation
Experience in commercial, industrial, and high-risk environments
Knowledge of gas suppression or sprinkler systems
Strong technical and fault-finding skills
Attention to detail and compliance

Time management and reliability
Safety-conscious mindset
Site-based work with travel
After-hours or standby work as required
