A leading beverage manufacturer in South Africa is seeking a Sales Representative to drive brand growth in the On Premise Trade. The ideal candidate will have substantial wine and spirit knowledge, at least 3 years of sales experience, and strong presentation skills. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, managing customer relationships, and executing promotional activities. This full-time position is based in Cape Town.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience, preferably in the wine or liquor industry.
  • Confident in public speaking and presentations.
  • Comfortable using cell phone technology and sales applications.

Reporting to Regional Sales Manager, as a Sales Representative - On, you will need a combination of wine and spirit knowledge, sales skills, and a customer-oriented approach, be accountable for sales excellence and long-term brand growth in the On Premise Trade. Work and win in teams by exceeding sales objectives, increasing sales revenue, promoting the company’s products, providing a superior service to existing customers, and establishing new accounts to establish DGB as a partner of choice.

Responsibilities
  • Achieve On-Channel sales volume and market share targets
  • Meet On-Channel value, price and space targets
  • Meet On-Channel execution expectations
  • Meet On-Channel sales business objectives
  • Ensure that On-Channel promotions and activations are executed according to brand plan
  • Ensure accurate and current data is captured on C4C system
  • Ensure 85% call cycle adherence
  • Retain existing On-Channel customers and acquire new On-Channel customers
  • Understand and meet On-Channel customer needs and ensure they are aligned to business needs
  • Resolve customer complaints and implement improvement opportunities
Qualifications and Skills
  • A relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous
  • A recognized wine certification would be a distinct advantage such as Cape Wine Academy or Wine & Spirit Education Trust (min WSET 2)
  • Minimum of 3 years Sales experience, particularly in the wine or liquor environment
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
  • Able to work after hours and weekends when required
  • Has an unendorsed driver’s license and own reliable transport
  • Lives the DGB values at all times, be honest, reliable, and ethical
  • Confident, persistent, presentable and knowledgeable
  • Meticulous, organized, calm and able to work under pressure
  • Comfortable and proficient in using cell phone technology and Sales Apps
