About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic and driven Sales Engineer to join a leading player in the alternative energy sector, specifically focused on compressed natural gas (CNG). The ideal candidate will be responsible for growing the business by identifying and developing new business opportunities, maintaining relationships with existing clients, and contributing to strategic sales initiatives within industrial, commercial, and fleet sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue prospective clients through cold calling, referrals, and networking.
  • Present company services and value propositions to potential clients.
  • Develop and maintain a CRM database tailored to client energy needs and budget constraints.
  • Target customers in industries such as food processing, mining, manufacturing, textiles, fleet operations, and government sectors.

Client Engagement

  • Maintain relationships with current customers while actively expanding the customer base.
  • Arrange and coordinate client meetings with senior leadership when needed to close strategic deals.
  • Prepare custom proposals based on client energy requirements and equipment needs.

Account Management

  • Ensure consistent client servicing and satisfaction through regular follow-ups and site visits.
  • Manage overdue accounts and ensure clients meet agreed monthly volume thresholds.
  • Liaise with internal teams regarding pricing updates, contract renewals, and equipment supply.

Market Intelligence & Networking

  • Stay informed on competitor activity, pricing, and market shifts.
  • Engage with professional bodies, attend industry workshops, and maintain a strong industry network.
  • Build relationships with key suppliers within the gas and energy sector.

Reporting & Administration

  • Compile and submit weekly activity reports and monthly performance summaries.
  • Ensure client data and vendor records are up to date.
  • Prepare and monitor gas supply agreements and related equipment rental contracts.
  • Assist in costing exercises, proposal drafting, and administrative support across the sales cycle.
Qualifications
  • BTech / BSc degree (Engineering, Sales or Marketing focus preferred)
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in Technical Sales
  • Previous exposure to costing, pricing, and contract management is an advantage
  • Solid understanding of industrial or energy-based solutions and products
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities
  • Confident in delivering presentations and writing reports
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with solid math skills
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle
