OverviewSales Consultant – Laparoscopy and Surgical Stapling | PretoriaJoin to apply for the Sales Consultant role at Salesworx Recruitment (Pty) Ltd.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the sales of Laparoscopy, Surgical & Surgimed products; maintain and grow existing business and expand sales within the assigned territory.
  • Schedule and attend appointments with existing and potential customers; demonstrate products to clinical personnel.
  • Complete weekly planner and activity report for submission to the direct manager.
  • Achieve sales targets; network with and develop relationships with new customers and manage existing customers.
  • Count and manage consignment stock; request and follow up on quotations.
  • Meet all activities and record them in Force Manager CRM; perform general administration associated with the position.
  • Assist the National Product Manager with journal clubs, workshops, VISTA meetings, conferences; implement tactical and strategic plans; promote all client products; evaluate and report on competitors' products to drive strategy.
  • Establish a network with hospital stakeholders (physicians and key opinion leaders); build and maintain relationships with customers, payers, government, and internal teams; gather customer requirements to ensure satisfaction.
  • Manage relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Achieve monthly/quarterly/annual sales budgets; assist with tender input, quotes, and daily Ariba/Trade World tasks; submit monthly and weekly reports; ensure compliance with SOPs, regulations and ethics.
  • Manage expenses within budget; document activities in Force Manager CRM.
  • Manage consignment stock and field inputs; oversee stock rotation and returns; manage boot stock and product rotation to reduce expiries.
  • Ensure procedural kits are effectively implemented where applicable.
  • Identify and implement educational events; manage workshop activities with sales team and customers; train new customers on product ranges; participate in congress planning.
  • Adhere to credit policies; maintain administrative responsibilities and monthly marketing activity reporting; ensure legal and ethical standards.
  • Maintain motivation; prepare and conduct presentations; support sales managers with product queries and technical information.
  • Manage your portfolio in line with company values.
  • Travel extensively as required; travel abroad if needed.
  • Apply knowledge of sales process to identify opportunities; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications: Grade 12 (Matric) minimum; a relevant degree or diploma is an advantage. Medical-management or marketing qualification would be advantageous.
  • Skills and Experience: Theatre-based selling experience is essential; knowledge of laparoscopy and Emergency Medical Devices is advantageous.
  • Strong planning, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Negotiation, project management, and analytical skills; understanding of marketing analysis and strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team; strong problem-solving and decision‑making ability; capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel extensively; knowledge of the sales process; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel advanced, PowerPoint, Outlook).
