Job Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Safety Manager to join our team in Durban North, South Africa. The Safety Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, conducting safety audits and inspections, and providing training and guidance to employees to ensure a safe work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety management and a passion for promoting a culture of safety within the workplace. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations - Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions - Provide safety training and guidance to employees on a regular basis - Investigate and report on workplace accidents and incidents, and implement measures to prevent future occurrences - Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and recommend improvements to existing safety protocols - Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures - Manage safety records and reports, and ensure compliance with all legal requirements - Conduct safety meetings and trainings to promote safety awareness and address any safety concerns or issues - Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness in case of emergencies - Coordinate with external agencies and authorities on safety-related matters - Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and make recommendations for improvement - Participate in safety-related meetings and committees, and represent the company in external safety events and conferences.
