Job summary

A leading investment firm in South Africa seeks a Reporting, Data & Operations Analyst to support cross-functional data processes. In this pivotal role, you will ensure timely and accurate data delivery for investor reporting and internal impact analysis. About the Role

LeapFrog is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Reporting, Data & Operations Analyst to support cross-functional data processes across the Investor Relations, Impact, and Finance teams. This role is pivotal in ensuring timely, accurate, and insightful data delivery for investor reporting and internal impact analysis. The role will work closely with the Senior Manager, Investor Relations, managing data workflows, engaging stakeholders, and driving processes to completion.

Responsibilities
Investor Reporting
  • Co-ordinate and deliver periodic investor reporting, ensuring accurate and timely collation of impact and financial metrics.
  • Liaise with Investment, Impact, Finance and relevant teams to align data inputs and ensure accuracy of reporting and consistency across reporting cycles.
  • Maintain reporting templates and dashboards and support continuous improvement of reporting processes.
Investor Data Requests
  • Lead the response process for investor data requests, including ad-hoc, DDQs, and bespoke financial and impact data queries.
  • Track and manage incoming requests, ensuring timely and high-quality responses.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to source and validate data and maintain a centralised request log.
Data Management
  • Maintain LeapFrog's data system (iLevel), including financial and impact data.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and completeness in iLevel.
  • Understand the various data metrics and inputs/outputs as well as the calculations or methodologies involved.
  • Utilise tools to perform trend and other analysis to identify anomalies or inconsistencies with regards to data and coordinate with investment and impact teams to resolve gaps.
  • Responsible for building dashboards and providing consistent data across LeapFrog.
  • Create and maintain a library of definitions for the various datasets to ensure correct mapping and interpretation and translation of data across LeapFrog and investor requests.
Additional
  • Assist with the preparation of data for scheduled and ad-hoc Investor calls and presentations and for internal governance meetings.
  • Support the rollout and tracking of the Annual Monitoring Survey (AMS) across portfolio companies.
  • Assist in data validation, follow-ups, and stakeholder engagement to ensure full completion and accuracy.
  • Assist in preparing and validating data inputs for the Annual Impact Report.
  • Support the Annual Impact Call by preparing data visualisations and summaries.
  • Ensure consistency between AMS results, investor reporting, and impact report data.
  • Work across teams to align data strategies and support various projects.
  • Identify and implement automation or enhancements and efficiencies to the data collection, maintenance and reporting processes.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field, e.g., Finance, Economics, Accounting, Data Science or Business-related.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in finance consulting, project management, data analysis, operations, or reporting.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word; familiarity with iLevel or similar platforms is an advantage.
  • Technical proficiency in data analysis and BI tools.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams or matrixed environments is an advantage.
  • Exposure or familiarity with emerging markets preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Private Equity investment process preferred.
