Job summary

A leading Renewable Energy firm in South Africa seeks a Landowner Engagement Manager to manage relationships with landowners hosting renewable energy projects. Responsibilities include developing engagement strategies, facilitating meetings, and addressing grievances. Ideal candidates should have a relevant degree and 3–5 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, especially in renewable energy. Fluency in English and Afrikaans is required. Qualifications

Landowner Engagement Manager

Renewable Energy IPP | South Africa

Copper Quail Global is recruiting a Landowner Engagement Manager for a leading Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer (IPP) with a growing portfolio of wind and solar assets across South Africa.

Role Purpose

The Landowner Engagement Manager will be responsible for managing long-term relationships with landowners hosting renewable energy projects, from construction through to operations. The role focuses on proactive stakeholder engagement, risk mitigation, and grievance management to ensure sustainable, compliant, and conflict-free landowner relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as primary point of contact for landowners across project sites
  • Manage landowner relationships from construction into operations
  • Develop and implement landowner stakeholder engagement plans (SEPs)
  • Identify and mitigate landowner-related risks and issues
  • Facilitate regular landowner meetings and site engagements
  • Oversee grievance mechanisms and ensure timeous close-out
  • Support project and operations teams in resolving landowner matters
  • Maintain accurate stakeholder records, reports, and meeting minutes
  • Coordinate with community and stakeholder relations teams
Minimum Requirements
  • Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business Administration, Town Planning or related
  • 3–5 years’ experience in landowner or stakeholder engagement (renewable energy preferred)
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Understanding of renewable energy projects and construction environments
  • Ability to travel regularly to project sites
