Job summary

A dynamic retail organization is seeking a Finance candidate to join its team in South Africa, Wes-Kaap. The role involves daily reconciliation of store bank accounts, handling POS transaction queries, and providing customer service. Ideal candidates should possess a Matric certificate and preferably a tertiary accounting qualification. Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and proficient knowledge of MS Excel are essential. The company values transformation and diversity as part of its employment equity plan.

  • Knowledge of store day end processes regarding cash-ups and stock movements.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for daily reconciling of store bank accounts and control accounts.
  • Follow up on discrepancies noted during the reconciliation process.
  • Check daily cash deposits and petty cash transactions.
  • Responsible for customer and store queries relating to POS transactions.
  • Allocate third party payments and transactions.
  • Prepare customer refunds where required.
  • Prepare and capture inter-group invoices.
  • Assist in ad-hoc management and audit queries.

Job description

Our Finance Team is looking for a dynamic and extremely capable candidate who has the ability to work both independently and with others. Furthermore, strong communicate skills and relationship-building capabilities at all levels will be a great asset.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsibility for daily reconciling of store bank accounts and control accounts
  • Follow up on any discrepancies noted during the reconciliation process and action accordingly
  • Checking of daily cash deposits and petty cash transactions.
  • Responsible for all customer and store queries relating to POS transactions
  • Allocating of third party payments and transactions, including but not limited to RCS
  • Prepare customer refunds where required.
  • Able to operate across various legal entities within the Group, which includes entities outside of South Africa
  • Prepare and capture inter-group invoices.
  • Assist in ad-hoc management and audit queries.
  • Providing superior customer service and administrative support
Qualifications
  • Matric certificate is essential
  • Any tertiary accounting certificate / Diploma will be beneficial
Role Requirements
  • Knowledge of store day end processes regarding cash-ups and stock movements.
  • Experience working with cashbooks (added advantage: Sage cashbook)
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise accordingly
  • Ability to work in a pressurised environment within time constraints
