Job Overview

We are seeking a Qualified Diesel Mechanic with extensive experience in the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of heavy-duty trucks and plant equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all diesel-powered vehicles and machinery are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on trucks and plant equipment (e.g., TLBs, excavators, front-end loaders, graders, etc.).
  • Diagnose faults and conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, braking systems, and electrical components.
  • Conduct routine inspections and safety checks on all equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance with regulations.
  • Respond to on-site and workshop breakdowns, minimizing equipment downtime.
  • Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic reports.
  • Maintain accurate job cards, service records, and parts requisitions.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Liaise with operators and supervisors to report faults, provide technical feedback, and schedule necessary repairs.
Minimum Requirements
  • Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal or equivalent trade certification)
  • Minimum 35 years of post-trade experience working on trucks and plant equipment
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, diesel engines, transmissions, and drivetrains
