Qualifications

Howden MEA Projects is seeking an experienced QC Inspector to monitor quality standards compliance across all project sites.

What Will You Do

1. Conduct QC audits according to schedule and compile reports accurately and on time, following procedures.
2. Maintain calibration status of all measuring and test equipment.
3. Perform supplier inspections, including dimensional, visual, and welding inspections, and report on conformance to project engineers.
4. Authorize release of items to site to confirm quality conformance.
5. Initiate and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for non-compliant products.
6. Verify that suppliers adhere to the latest Howden project purchase specifications and procedures.
7. Assist in-house inspections when required.
8. Expedite progress on additional orders during inspections.
9. Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations.

Your Experience Should Include...

1. Grade 12 education.
2. Technical or artisan knowledge as a boilermaker, welder, fitter, or turner, with at least 5 years of experience manufacturing structural steel and plate work to drawings.
3. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
4. Knowledge of various measuring and test equipment applications.
5. Certification as a Level 1 & 2 Welding & Fabrication Inspector from the South African Institute of Welding (SAIW), with understanding of NDT methods and procedures.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word.
7. ISO 9000 Quality Management Systems training and internal audit certification.
8. Awareness of environmental and legal issues related to QC and safety.
