Introduction
Our Company is looking for a Project Manager - Cyber Security Projects to work at one of our Clients in Cape Town.
6 Month Contract and could be renewable. Rate : R per hour. Summary : As a Project Manager specialising in Security Projects, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of initiatives that strengthen the organization's cybersecurity posture.
This includes Identity and Access Management (IAM), compliance, risk mitigation, and other security-related programs. You will manage cross-functional teams, oversee project governance, and ensure successful delivery within scope, time, and budget. The role requires a technically astute individual with strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, networking fundamentals, and hands-on experience implementing enterprise-grade cybersecurity solutions in collaboration with vendors and diverse user groups.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and final outcomes.
- Oversee end-to-end implementation of technical cybersecurity solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and security standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Cyber Security, Architecture, IT, Business Units) to gather requirements and align expectations.
- Facilitate regular project meetings and status updates.
- Manage stakeholder communications and ensure transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead end-to-end Request for Proposal (RFP) process for security-related solutions.
- Define RFP scope, evaluation criteria, and timelines in collaboration with procurement and technical teams.
- Coordinate vendor engagement, proposal evaluation, and selection processes.
- Ensure alignment of vendor solutions with business and security requirements.
- Manage contract negotiations and onboarding of selected vendors.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and resolve project issues proactively.
- Ensure compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, POPIA).
- Lead cross-functional teams including business analysts, engineers, and vendors.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide guidance and support.
- Foster a collaborative and accountable team culture.
- Ensure quality standards are met across all project deliverables.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and lessons learned sessions.
- Prepare and present project reports to senior management and governance forums.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM).
- ITIL 4 Foundation certification or demonstrable experience applying ITIL 4 principles in project delivery.
- 5+ years of experience managing IT or security-related projects.
- Demonstrated experience implementing cybersecurity solutions in large enterprises, involving multiple vendors and user environments.
- Experience with IAM technologies (e.g., SSO, MFA, IAG).
- Understanding of networking and cybersecurity principles, including firewalls, web application firewalls (WAF), network segmentation, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems.
- Proven experience managing RFP processes and vendor engagements.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO).
