Required to supervise a production team, ensuring quality standards, safety protocols, and production deadlines are met for shopfitting projects. Responsibilities include task allocation, training staff, maintaining equipment and cleanliness, conducting quality control, coordinating with other departments, and identifying opportunities for efficiency and continuous improvement in the manufacturing process.
Qualifications and Responsibilities
- Minimum Matric with 5yrs of industry related work experience, in a leadership role.
- Production or leadership training certification would be an added advantage.
- In-depth understanding of shopfitting processes, joinery, woodworking machinery, and ideally, CNC machining and spray finishing processes.
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and effectively manage a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication to clearly convey instructions and build relationships with team members and other departments.
- Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and train a production team to foster a positive work environment.
- Production Oversight: Coordinate daily activities to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of the production schedule or plan, overseeing the manufacturing of shopfitting components with close collaboration with the Production Manager.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all produced items meet the required specifications, quality levels, and are defect-free, including coordinating finishing processes.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring the team adheres to all protocols.
- Resource Management: Manage workflow, materials, and equipment, ensuring equipment is maintained and the work area is kept clean and organized.
- Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks, implement best practices, and propose ideas to Management, to improve production efficiency.
- Coordination: Liaise with other departments, such as design & procurement, to ensure a seamless workflow and timely delivery of technical specifications, materials and finished products.
- Reporting: Complete administrative tasks and provide accurate reports on production progress, quality and performance to Management.
- Problem‑Solving: Skill in identifying issues, analyzing production data, and implementing solutions to resolve bottlenecks and defects.
- Strong planning, scheduling, and logistical skills to manage project timelines and resource allocation.
- Safety Awareness: Broad understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to implement and enforce them.
- Quality Focus: A meticulous approach to detail and a commitment to maintaining high‑quality standards.
