A leading agricultural company in Gauteng is seeking a Production Manager to oversee daily operations in ripening, processing, and packing. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Operations Management and at least 5 years of production experience within the FMCG sector. Responsibilities include optimizing productivity, ensuring safety compliance, and continuously improving operational efficiency. Strong communication skills and integrity are essential for this role, along with proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
The Production Manager oversees daily ripening, processing, and packing operations, ensuring products are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, in full, and to required quality standards.
The role focuses on optimising productivity, reducing waste and costs, and maintaining strict health, safety, and food‑safety compliance.
This position drives operational discipline and continuous improvement to achieve OTIF, yield, and throughput targets for both internal production and third‑party packing.

A three‑year degree or national diploma in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
At least 5 years' production experience within the FMCG sector, ideally in fresh produce or similar high‑velocity environments.
Proven training and hands‑on experience implementing key production accreditations, including food safety, quality, and compliance standards.
Minimum 2 years' experience in an 8 or 8 Health & Safety role, or equivalent responsibility.
Advanced proficiency in MS Office with strong data and reporting capability.
2–3 years' experience working with ERP systems or similar operational platforms.
Strong understanding of FMCG production principles, productivity drivers, and performance management.
In‑depth knowledge of food safety systems, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
Solid grasp of Health & Safety regulations, waste management practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Working knowledge of basic labour law, HR management, and workforce planning.
Good technical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot operational issues.
Understanding of basic biochemistry relevant to fruit handling and ripening processes.
Competence in budgeting, cost control, and operational financial management.
Demonstrates strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and engage teams.
Upholds high levels of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
Committed to teamwork while also capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
