Our client, a leading supplier of construction-related materials across Southern Africa, is seeking to appoint a skilled professional to join their team.

Reporting to the National Procurement Manager, the successful candidate will form part of the Procurement function within the Shared Services Centre in Roodepoort, operating under the Finance Business Unit.

Responsibilities

Providing expert advice and services to the Procurement, Sourcing and Operational teams in the development and execution of AfriSam's Preferential Procurement (PP), Local and Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) and Supplier Development (SD) Strategies and associated practices.

Providing guidance to internal stakeholders to support AfriSam meeting its Mining Charter and B-BBEE imperatives and retain its license to operate.

Assisting Procurement, Sourcing and Operational teams in the development and maintenance of centralised procedures, checklists, guidelines and management tools in order to support and enable Preferential Procurement and Supplier Development compliance.

Ensuring consistent communication with stakeholders regarding the scorecards and the status of performance and gaps identified.

Scheduling audits for Preferential Procurement and Supplier Development processes and, if necessary, propose corrective action for any non-compliance, record and collate all PP and SD evidence required for annual BEE Verification and SLP Inspections.

Key liaison with community forums relating to PP and SD.

Compiling and distributing monthly, quarterly and annual PP and SD reports to procurement and operational management teams.

Qualifications

Degree or Diploma in Commercial / Business / Supply Chain / Procurement Management.

CIPS qualification / membership or equivalent e.g. SAPICS will be advantageous.

At least 5 years working experience in procuring for the mining environment with 2 years in a procurement transformation position.

Experience in Preferential Procurement, Supplier Development and Supplier Relationship Management.

Knowledge of B-BBEE and Mining Charter Scorecards (DMPR and DTIC).

Knowledge of the industry in which the various Business Units operate (mining / manufacturing).

Knowledge of SAP (MM, FI and PM) and advanced Excel knowledge.

Ability to maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Negotiation, Networking and Communication Skills, team player, Strong sense of integrity and ethics.

Ability to handle complaints and solve problems.
