The Water Group leads the NSW Government in providing confidence to communities and stakeholders with the transparent stewardship of water resources provision of services and reforms that support sustainable and healthy environments economies and societies across NSW.

About the Role

We are seeking expressions of interest for a Water Strategy Officer (Clerk Grade 11 / 12) to join our team to 30 June 2026 working on critical water reform priorities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to shaping water strategy in NSW.

Accountabilities
  • Develop strategy and policy options and responses to metropolitan water issues which are appropriate effective and efficient and compatible with Government priorities through the implementation of sound strategy and policy development process.
  • Provide analysis and review of regulatory mechanisms that underpin the provision of water services to ensure that strategy and policy settings for the water market (including those for State Owned Corporations and private sector participants are optimised).
  • Assist the Project Director Metro Water Priorities to develop the capacity of the team and deliver high quality water related strategic analysis and advice.
Essential Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and / or demonstrated experience / knowledge in strategic planning complex analysis regulatory review and policy development and managing activities associated with water service provision and water resource planning.
