PROJECT PLANNER – CONTRACT (ZIMBABWE)Reference : JHB MR-2A dynamic South African Project Management Consulting Company based in Pretoria requires the full-time services of a qualified and experienced Primavera Project Planner with knowledge of mega projects in mining, for a contract opportunity, working in SA and on-site in Zimbabwe - 6 months contract (till September ), with a strong possibility of a 24 months extension thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Plan and set up the project schedule with stakeholders’ input using Primavera.
• Follow project planning processes and company procedure on all assigned projects.
• Ensure consistency and reliable progress reporting.
• Highlight any deviation within the programme to the Project Manager and assist with innovative and appropriate planning advice.
• Implement planning logic, understanding interdependencies and knock‑on effects.
• Highlight critical path, earned value and appropriate resource loading.
• Track baseline versus actual progress on schedules.
• Highlight risks to ensure project completion on time; raise early warnings with possible impacts to the project schedule.
• Provide weekly reporting to internal and external parties by means of schedule updates and progress reporting.
• Assist subcontractors, align, and integrate project schedules and progress reports.
• Spend time on site in Zimbabwe.
• Understand bespoke consulting business models and be able to do business development.

Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant qualification and professional registration recommended.
• 6–10+ years’ experience in mining projects.
• Experience in a similar role, planning of large construction and installation projects.
• Primavera P6 and MS Projects knowledge essential.
• Sound understanding of fabrication and installation projects.
• Driven ‘can‑do’ attitude, with a passion for mega projects.
• Process‑oriented and assertive to ensure complex projects are executed in accordance with company established practices and safety requirements.
• Bias for action based on logical problem solving and experience.
• Able to work under pressure and to communicate effectively with a wide range of project stakeholders.
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of outputs.
• Analytical thinker, energetic and flexible.
• Must have EPCM contract experience.
• Power BI experience recommended.
• Must be willing and medically fit to work on mining / construction sites.

Package & Remuneration

Market related - negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
