Job summary

A leading safety management consulting firm in Mpumalanga is seeking a Safety and Environmental Compliance Officer. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in monitoring and implementing compliance in a power plant environment. Responsibilities include ensuring safety and health compliance, conducting site audits, and training staff on HSE protocols. Candidates should have relevant qualifications in safety management and environmental health, along with ISO certification knowledge.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 - 7 years experience in SHERQ in power plant or process plant.
• Knowledge of chemicals and steam systems in power generation.
• Knowledge of applicable legal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Report all safety, health, environmental compliance and quality assurance.
• Conduct routine site inspections and audits.
• Provide induction training to visitors and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Skills

Environmental & Waste Management knowledge

Excellent communication skills in English

Proficient in MS Outlook

Knowledge of firefighting measures

First aid knowledge

Education

Relevant National Diploma or BTech Degree in Safety Management

ISO certifications (14001:2015, 45001:2018, 9001:2015)

SAMTRAC or NEBOSH certification
