Diagnostic Technician

Our client is seeking a qualified PET Process Technician to join their team.

Job Requirements
  • Grade 12
  • Tertiary Education:
    • Diplomas, Certificates, and Degrees
    • Bachelor’s Degree / Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience:
    • 5 years’ relevant setting experience
  • Sound understanding of drawings, fault finding, and equipment testing
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working procedures
  • Skills in installation of parts & related equipment
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and communication
  • Ability to act decisively and urgently
  • High level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
Job Responsibilities
  • Identify, report, and rectify technical issues on assigned production equipment.
  • Understand product quality criteria, process details (material feeding, injection moulding, etc.), equipment specifics, mould installation, and technical drawings.
Fault Analysis and Problem Solving
  • Perform fault analysis and problem solving for product quality, mould issues, and machine malfunctions.
  • Report problems to Maintenance and Production Managers.
Maintenance
  • Develop maintenance plans and checklists.
  • Ensure maintenance is performed as planned and document accordingly.
Spares
  • Identify and manage spares for assigned equipment.
Machine Setting
  • Develop, set, and document machine settings.
  • Safely handle machines with bridged safety switches when necessary.
Management
  • Coordinate with Maintenance and Production Managers.
  • Ensure clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strive for continuous improvement.
Administration
  • Log jobs and analyze the Defect Register.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers and assist in the ordering process.
Health & Safety
  • Enforce health and safety standards.
  • Maintain housekeeping and report hazards or incidents.
Quality
  • Apply company quality principles and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Food Safety System Certification (FSSC)
  • Comply with site-specific food safety principles and standards.
Self-Development, Growth and Training
  • Assess strengths and development areas, stay updated on technical improvements, and foster teamwork and leadership.
General
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
  • Ensure team knows their responsibilities and follow company principles. Be a role model.
