Mission Description

Job Purpose:
To provide front line support for customers and to ensure that customers are satisfied with products, services, and features.
Is fully accountable for keeping excellent service for our internal and external customers. They are the custodian of the entire Operations portfolio.

Profile

Job Function:

  1. Sea Logistics operational / product related
    • Communication with Customers regarding business flows and continuity
    • Communication with Shipping lines regarding all operational challenges and ensuring operational issues are resolved timeously.
    • Regular interaction with service providers Logistics SP's Transnet, PPECB, DALRRD,
    • Customs, Chamber of commerce and other related providers
    • Overseeing the Operations process to ensure customers act with in SOP.
    • Ensuring mistakes highlighted and eliminated to ensure minimal losses.
    • Ensure staff are acting within the confines of the law.
  2. Compliance / standards related
    • Ensure standards for every shipment
    • SOPs are drafted and implemented with all customers
    • All customers trade within the company agreed parameter's
    • Good relationships are maintained with all stakeholders.
  3. Development / Innovation
    • Training and ensuring staff are kept up to date with changes in regulations
    • Keeping up with Industry changes to ensure we create solutions
  4. Communication
    • Staff communication on issues and continuous improvement of customer standard.
    • Communicate between Staff and Customers to ensure avoided unnecessary conflict.
  5. Support
    • Support operations teams (point of escalation)
    • Support Management on any customer related issues and queries on rates
  6. Training /Qualification
    • Ensuring ongoing compliance
    • Attending all industry forums and training with team
  7. Financial Management
    • Ensure invoice is done within 7 days from vessel sailing of customer SLA.
    • Oversee statements are sent out on time
    • Overseeing month Management accounts are completed
    • All customers rates are updated on budgets.
    • Managing all customers budgets

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualification
  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience in Freight Forwarding with 3 years management experience
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
