About Our Oncology Team

Our Oncology team focuses on market development and growth through innovative brands and access for patients. We work cross-functionally with internal and external teams to implement strategy, deliver value to patients, and shape the market through first-to-market launches and digital insights. We emphasize a growth mindset, collaboration, and delivering seamless execution in a changing environment.


What you will do

As part of the high-performing team, you will apply your skills to build your business and create value for customers through multi-engagement channels (face-to-face and virtual) by driving new molecular entities in Oncology. You will be part of brainstorming and co-creating solutions for customers and patients, engaging with Oncologists, support staff and multi-disciplinary teams in Johannesburg and surrounds (country trip: Nelspruit) in a multi-account approach where multi-discipline treatment of Oncology patients is practiced with new brands.


Typical accountabilities


  • Sales representative responsible for selling Oncology products in the Johannesburg and surrounds region (country trip: Nelspruit). Technical expert on specific products or patient needs, calling on Oncologists and multi-disciplinary teams. Establish long-term relationships with key customers.

  • Ensures compliance with AZ Code of Conduct, Global External Interactions Policy, Privacy Policy and standards.


Disease, Science, Therapy, Product, & Competitors


  • Demonstrates solid scientific and disease area knowledge and maintains ongoing learning.

  • Possesses detailed knowledge of relevant clinical trials, data, and products; understands competitors.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED



  • Completed Degree in Health Sciences or life sciences (e.g., B.Sc.).

  • Must have existing relationships with Oncologists in Johannesburg and surrounds (country trip: Nelspruit).

  • Gauteng-based role; ideally resides in Johannesburg and willing to travel to Nelspruit.

  • 4-5 years of proven specialist Oncology sales experience desirable; essentially 6-8 years of specialist medical sales experience.

  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence peers; strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong analytical ability and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
