About the role

The Network Engineer is responsible for delivering technical excellence in LAN and Wi-Fi technologies. The role requires a balance of a depth of technical expertise, communication excellence, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. The engineer will provide professional and proactive support while maintaining a high level of stakeholder engagement and ensuring optimal network reliability.

  • Network Administration & Maintenance
    • Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including configuring systems software, WIFI devices, switches, routers and firewalls.
    • Proactively monitor performance and ensure Network Services availability and reliability and take pre-emptive action.
    • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, network, and system problems.
  • Ticket Management & Incident Handling
    • Provide Tier-2 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues, whilst also upskilling Tier 1 engineers, aligned with Reflex Priority Matrix.
    • Log, priorities and assign support calls, escalate when appropriate and communicate progress to all relevant parties.
  • Documentation & Standard Operating Procedures
    • Creating basic diagrams and documentation, including SOPs.
    • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Liaison
    • Liaise with service providers and engineers and stakeholders for problem resolution.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric Certificate
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in an Enterprise environment.
  • Experience in working with Mikrotik, Aruba, Huawei and Cisco equipment.
  • Experience in Working with Wireless equipment (Ruckus, Aruba, Ubiquity)
