Thekwini TVET College invites suitably qualified and experienced Lecturers to apply for contract posts available for the 2026 academic year based in Durban.

NCV Hospitality Lecturer (PL1) X2

Contract period: 2026 Academic Year

Salary notch: R270,498.00, plus 37% cash in lieu of benefits.

Requirements

• Matric or equivalent
• Recognized and relevant tertiary qualification in Hospitality or related (REQV 13)
• Advanced Teaching Diploma in TVT / Post Graduate Diploma TVET / Diploma in Secondary or Higher Education
• Valid SACE registration (not provisional registration)
• Teaching experience will be an added advantage
• Sound subject knowledge and work-related applications
• Teaching NCV Hospitality (all levels)
• Computer literacy (MS Office)
• Passion for teaching and learning
• Customer care; leadership and management skills; assertiveness; good record keeping and administrative skills; be a team player, have passion for learning and teaching; as well as good communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Result Areas

• Assist with enrolment, registration and induction of students
• Teaching and learning delivery
• Assess and evaluate student progress
• Monitor student attendance register
• Maintain student attendance and performance records
• Creating classroom environment conducive to teaching and learning
• Provide feedback to students regarding their performance and progress
• Liaise with Senior Lecturers, Head of Division and Student Support Services officials in providing support interventions to students
• Invigilation duties
• Attend to uploading and management of LMS subject related portal.
