Overview
Job Purpose: To ensure sustained compliance and business continuity through the development and implementation of HSE strategies, programs and initiatives with Premier staff and contractors to continually improve a resilient HSE culture throughout Premier Group.
Responsibilities
- To minimize HSE risks and ensure compliance to HSE SOPs across the group by implementing, auditing and coaching site management teams to implement HSE Systems, HSE policies and procedures.
- To entrench a health, Safety & Environmental culture in Premier by advising, guiding and coaching sites.
- Assist in implementation of ISO 45001 & 14001 Systems.
- Management teams to perform regular HSE risk assessments, aspects/impact assessments and implement corrective actions and preventative actions on identified issues and implementing Premier STAR rating system.
- To support continuous improvement and risk compliance by providing timeous feedback on, agreed group and business unit HSE targets and KPI’s to the relevant business units and Divisional Executives as per the requirements of OSHACT and group policy.
- To champion HSE culture throughout all Premier sites and build strong working relationships with all key stakeholders, contractors, suppliers, insurers and employees and drive step change in Premier’s HSE performance.
- To continually improve and comply with all legislative and regulatory requirements by ensuring that internal processes and SOPs are aligned to meet national and international standards and codes of practice.
- To minimize risk, optimize business continuity and ensure insurability of Premier by managing annual external Insurance audits and corrective action planning and associated close out control process for all Premier sites.
- Ensure business continuity by reviewing all high-consequence events (fire, dust explosions, chemical spills etc) including injury management and restoring control of the site.
- To ensure a high performing HSE and operational risk team through contracting, coaching, development and management of performance in line with the Premier leadership promise and managing cost effective execution of all projects and plans in line with agreed budget and cost savings targets.
- Assist sites with risk assessments and completing reports on railway safety.
- Provide advice and assist sites on site security requirements.
Qualification Requirements
- BTECH Occupational Health and Safety
- National Diploma in Health and Safety
- NEBOSH Environmental qualification
- NEBOSH IGC
- SAMTRAC
Experience Requirements
- FMCG HSE experience 5 - 7 years
- HSE Internal Auditing Techniques 3 - 5 years
- Managing Insurance Risk compliance 3 - 5 years
- Managing teams and outsourced teams 3 - 5 years
