Overview
Our client is looking for a driven and strategic National Key Accounts Manager to lead and grow their relationships with key national customers in the manufactured food segment. This role will be responsible for managing modern trade, general trade, e-commerce and B2B channels. The NKAM will lead the development and execution of customer-centric strategies that drive revenue growth, profitability and long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the business relationship with assigned national key accounts across retail, foodservice and/or industrial segments.
- Develop and implement joint business plans (JBPs) with key customers that align with company growth targets.
- Conduct regular business reviews to track performance, share insights and align on growth initiatives.
- Develop and execute annual and quarterly sales plans for each key account.
- Drive achievement of volume, revenue and margin targets.
- Lead new product listings, promotional planning and activation across channels.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Marketing, Trade Marketing, Demand Planning, Supply Chain and Finance to ensure timely execution and service levels.
- Align internal teams on customer-specific requirements and programs.
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends and customer feedback to identify risks and opportunities.
- Recommend changes in product offerings, pricing or promotional activities based on insights.
- Lead negotiations on trade terms, pricing, discounts and marketing support agreements.
- Ensure adherence to contractual agreements and timely resolution of disputes or operational issues.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing or related field (MBA is a plus).
- 8-12 years of experience in B2B or B2C key account management in the manufactured food industry (e.g. packaged, processed, frozen or RTE foods).
- Proven experience managing large national accounts (retail, foodservice or industrial buyers).
- Strong understanding of supply chain, demand planning and category management in the food manufacturing context.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and analytical skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and sales CRM systems.
- Willing to travel as required for customer meetings and reviews.
