Job description

MOTUS MULTIFRANCHISE MENLYN (Hyundai, Kia, Tata) offers an opportunity for a qualified Motor Mechanic / Petrol Technician.

Responsibilities
  • Test drive vehicles to assess work completed and diagnose issues customers bring in.
  • Move frequently between the workshop, service advisors and parts department to generate repair quotes.
  • Discuss repair orders with service advisors and customers and provide coherent explanations.
  • Provide accurate diagnosis to estimate (cost, time, effort) for repairs correctly.
  • Carry out allocated maintenance, repair and diagnostic work as instructed.
  • Perform tasks such as replacing oil or lubricating equipment; inspecting, replacing and/or repairing damaged parts.
  • Use diagnostic equipment correctly for vehicle diagnosis and repair.
  • Ensure diagnosis leads to the most cost‑effective and accurate remedy to fault or customer complaint.
  • Produce legible and accurate paperwork, job cards etc reflecting the work performed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment and return vehicles in a neat, clean and safe condition.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Qualified as Automotive Technician (minimum requirement).
  • 3+ years' experience as a qualified technician – highly desired.
  • Valid, unendorsed driver’s licence and safe driving record.
  • Capability to perform heavy equipment handling, standing for long periods, bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, crouching and working in confined spaces.
  • Competent at operating manufacturer diagnostic equipment to access required information.
  • Excellent track record of “fix right first time.”
  • Mechanical insight, problem‑solving and motor vehicle fault diagnostic skills.
  • Mentally alert with sound English communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Meticulous, customer‑oriented, team player, interpersonally competent, decisive and efficient.
