Our client, a leading engineering company based in Pietermaritzburg, is seeking a qualified Millwright for a short-term, 2-week contract. This position requires immediate availability and hands-on experience in the repair and servicing of industrial machinery.

POSITION INFO :

• This is a hands-on role that requires a qualified individual with proven experience in repairing, servicing, and maintaining industrial machinery . The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical and electrical background, and be confident working in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Job duties :

Conduct mechanical and electrical maintenance on a variety of industrial machines

Diagnose faults and perform necessary repairs quickly and efficiently

Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime

Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals

Ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently

Collaborate with the onsite maintenance and production teams

Requirements :

Trade-tested Millwright qualification (Red Seal advantageous)

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an industrial or engineering environment

Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical troubleshooting skills

Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results under tight timelines

Immediate availability is essential. Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently within the two-week timeframe

Must reside in or near Pietermaritzburg and have reliable transport
