MATERIALS PLANNER AND EXPEDITOR

Department : Supply Chain

JOB OVERVIEW

The Materials Planner and Expeditor is responsible for planning and controlling all packing and raw materials in line with the Master Production Schedule. They ensure that materials are available by calling off and expediting packaging and raw material lines according to the material requirement plan.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS AND INDICATORS

Materials Planning and Execution

  • Plans and controls all packing and raw materials aligned with the Master Production Schedule.
  • Ensures the schedule is achievable over a 12-month rolling horizon.
  • Analyzes discrepancies and takes corrective actions.
  • Acts proactively on schedule change requests related to material supply.
  • Reduces working capital through efficient planning.
  • Manages risks related to promotional goods purchasing.
  • Seeks cost-saving and control improvements.
  • Monitors for inactivity or obsolescence, and recommends dispositions.
  • Participates in cycle count analysis and follows up on system balances.
  • Investigates and corrects inventory errors.

Supplier Management

  • Monitors stocks of consignment materials and identifies risks.
  • Participates in supplier meetings and visits.
  • Sets and measures KPIs like OTIF.
  • Maintains records of material specifications and supplier awareness.
  • Participates in negotiations.

Materials Management

  • Purchases printed materials as per marketing needs.
  • Sends purchase orders timely.
  • Ensures invoices are correct and aligned with POs.
  • Coordinates with stores for receipt of materials.
  • Keeps purchase orders and material info updated in ERP.
  • Assists in maintaining the material budget and records.
  • Handles changes in bills of material and other purchasing tasks.

Health and Safety

  • Adheres to GMP, HACCP, and sanitation standards.
  • Complies with safety rules and addresses safety concerns proactively.
  • Follows Kellogg's environmental policies.

DIMENSIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Degree in Supply Chain with 3-5 years of FMCG experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Analytical skills for material scenario planning.
  • Adaptability, learning ability, work standards, tenacity.
  • Effective communication, trust-building, commitment.
  • Knowledge of Kellogg's quality, safety procedures, replenishment principles, operational policies, ERP systems (SAP or similar), MS Excel, and compliance standards.
