We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our growing international finance team. This role provides essential accounting and reporting support across multiple group entities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with local and international accounting requirements.
The role is particularly important in providing support to the rest of the finance team during the peak year-end, audit, budget, and board reporting cycle (January-April), where additional capacity is crucial. You will gain exposure to a wide range of group entities in different countries, their accounting systems, and operating rules, positioning you to step in and provide hands-on support when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with group consolidation processes and help ensure accuracy of consolidated results.
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial statements.
- Assist in analysing financial data to highlight trends, variances, and potential issues for review by senior finance.
- Provide support in reviewing and reconciling intercompany transactions and balances.
- Research and help resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
- Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and coordinate responses to auditor queries.
- Provide support during the annual budget process, including gathering data, preparing calculations, and assembling summaries for the group.
- Document and maintain standard operating processes and procedures relating to finance.
- Support senior finance staff in ad hoc reporting, projects, expansion activities, and system improvements.
- Step in to provide coverage when finance team members are on leave or during workload peaks across group entities.
- Collaborate with the finance team to strengthen internal controls and improve processes.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance (B.Com Accounting/Financial Management) with completed articles in SAICA/SAIPA/SAIBA/CIMA, or if not completed articles, at least two years of work experience in a finance position
- Strong knowledge of MS Office programs, particularly Excel (Advance Excel)
- Full professional proficiency in Afrikaans and English (speaking and writing)
- Experience with accounting software - Xero, Sage Evolution and Cin7 would be advantageous
Skills & Capabilities
- Strong foundation in accounting principles (knowledge of international accounting standards an advantage).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting software/ERPs.
