A leading food production company based in Durbanville is seeking a Maintenance & Project Planner. This role involves ensuring the implementation and maintenance of plant asset care management. Candidates must have a National Diploma or BTech in Electrical or Mechanical, along with trade test qualifications. Qualifications

Overview

County Fair, a Division of Astral Operations Limited, has this opportunity for a Maintenance & Project Planner based at County Fair, within the Commercial Division in the Western Cape.

The purpose of this position is to ensure the implementation, maintenance, and integrity of plant asset care management principles by effectively utilizing resourcing through daily planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance plans.

Qualifications
  • Grade 12 with completed N6 / National Diploma / BTech Electrical / Mechanical
  • A trade tested / qualified Artisan (Electrical or Mechanical)
Experience
  • 5 years post-trade experience and minimum 3 years planning experience
  • Have knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering practices
  • Have sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Projects, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Explorer & MS Outlook)
  • Have working experience and knowledge in planned maintenance programs
Other Requirements
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • To keep abreast of trends and new developments of HACCP, 20 keys and computer programs
  • Able to solve problems related to Microsoft systems, HACCP and 20 keys
  • Highly aware and cognizant of safety, health and hygiene stipulations and vigilant to reduce errors
  • Due to the nature of the job, working additional hours will be required from time to time, which may necessitate working into the evening, public holidays or on weekends.
  • Able to assist the Maintenance Manager and Engineer with reasonable requests and duties as required
The Ideal Candidate Will Be Responsible For
  • Planning and scheduling of maintenance (routine, preventative and projects)
  • Plan shutdowns, projects and feedback on progress
  • Review shutdowns / projects
  • Participate in job observations
  • Identify the required follow-on work and raise the relevant work orders
  • Capture data, analyze and generate asset management reports
  • Analyze the equipment to identify failure causes and risks
  • Identify maintenance tasks required to optimize productivity
  • Maintain system integrity - ensure correct system usage by team – auditing and coaching
  • Publish plant standard reports (thermal inspection, R&M costs, maintenance resource planning, formal failure analysis, downtime and asset care reports)
  • Analyze all service orders/planned maintenance service orders and provide feedback of variances
  • Costing of all planned maintenance and project job cards
  • Analyze history and proposals regarding expenditure and life of equipment
  • Logging of SGA Plant Modifications and filing
  • Generating CAPEX documents for maintenance or project related expenditure
  • Regular machine and plant inspections and generating reports when required
  • Assisting with maintenance tasks and projects over weekends (when required)
  • Assisting maintenance staff and foremen with technical problems
