A leading academic institution in Gqeberha is seeking a qualified lecturer in Private Law to facilitate teaching, conduct research, and supervise students. The ideal candidate should possess an LLM in Private Law, at least 2 years of teaching experience, and demonstrable research outputs. Responsibilities include course management and involvement in academic engagement. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the Faculty of Law.

The core purpose of this academic post is to contribute to the academic project in the Faculty of Law through the facilitation of learning and teaching (primarily in the Department of Private Law), to do research, contribute to the academic and community engagement and to be involved in the core functions of the Faculty.
Facilitate effective teaching and learning at undergraduate level, specifically in Private Law modules, which includes but is not limited to the Law of Contract, Private International Law and the Law of Obligations;
Assume responsibility for course materials, lectures, tutorials and assessment of modules in Private Law;
Supervision of under-graduate and postgraduate students;
Be able to perform independent research and publish in peer reviewed journals;
Perform administrative duties and other functions as assigned by the Department or Faculty.
A sound knowledge in the theory and application of Private Law, specifically Law of Contract, Private International Law and the Law of Obligations;
Experience in facilitating teaching and learning at undergraduate level;
Ability to contribute to the creation of knowledge through research and publications;
Strong communication, administrative and interpersonal skills;
Ability to supervise undergraduate and masters candidates;
Involvement in relevant engagement activities or other scholarly outputs.
