Job summary

A leading mining and construction company in Johannesburg is seeking a Junior Financial Administrator to support the finance department. You will handle day-to-day administrative tasks, assist with financial record-keeping, and ensure accurate data entry. Key responsibilities include processing invoices, maintaining financial records, assisting with audits, and responding to queries. A Matric certificate is required; a diploma in finance/accounting is beneficial. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel are essential.

Qualifications

  • Matric certificate (Grade 12) required; diploma or degree in finance/accounting advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a similar administrative or finance role beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in processing invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial closings.
  • Help monitor accounts payable and receivable.
  • Handle expense claims and small-scale financial transactions.
  • Ensure proper documentation filing.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.

LDC (18 Months)

The Junior Financial Administrator will support the finance department by handling day-to-day administrative tasks, assisting with financial record-keeping, and ensuring accurate data entry.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist in processing invoices, payments and receipts in line with company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and update accounting databases and spreadsheets.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial closings.
  • Help monitor accounts payable and receivable, following up on outstanding payments where necessary.
  • Handle expense claims, and other small-scale financial transactions.
  • Ensure all documentation is filed appropriately and complies with company and legal standards.
  • Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
  • Respond to queries from suppliers, clients, and internal teams regarding financial matters.
  • Adhere to all company financial policies and procedures.
