Job description

We are on the lookout for a junior field guide to join a small team at a Self Catering Lodge. We are looking for a young candidate new to the industry, newly qualified and a good team player.

Being a self-catering lodge with occasional catering for group bookings, conferences, tour groups, etc. Primarily local tourism.

Responsibilities

• Guiding
• Guest welcome, check-ins
• Lodge checks
• Bush clearing
• General maintenance (pools, vehicles, etc)
• Assisting in other departments when needed (ie. Catered bookings, etc)

Requirements

• FGASA level 1 (NQF2) – membership up to date
• Snake handling
• First Aid
• PDP
• DEAT registered

The position is live in. Salary will be market related, depending on qualifications and experience, with a game drive commission and conference tip structure. Shared accommodation provided (Own bedroom and Bathroom). 6 weeks on 2 weeks off, no meals provided unfortunately.
