A reputable organization is seeking to appoint a Junior Bookkeeper within its Debt Collection Department. The successful candidate will be based at the company’s branch in Linden and will be responsible for handling day-to-day bookkeeping functions with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and debt collection-related processes.
Position Description
The Junior Bookkeeper will be required to maintain financial records, manage invoicing and payment allocations, reconcile accounts, and prepare client payments. This role requires an individual with prior experience in legal bookkeeping, particularly within a debt collection environment, who demonstrates excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
Maintain and update accurate financial records
Perform invoicing and allocate client payments correctly
Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies timeously
Prepare and process client payments
Ensure compliance with internal accounting standards and policies
Provide support to senior finance staff as required
Minimum Requirements
Matric certificate (compulsory)
Bookkeeping or Accounting Diploma/Certificate
Minimum of 2 years’ bookkeeping experience in a law firm (essential)
