We are currently looking for an Infrastructure Manager to join our Infrastructure team in South Africa. The Infrastructure Team is the backbone of the organization’s IT operations, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the technology systems that drive business processes. This includes managing servers, networks, cloud environments, and other critical infrastructure components to ensure reliability, security, and scalability.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure solutions, both on-premises and in the cloud.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the IT infrastructure, ensuring uptime, performance, and compliance with SLAs.
  • Lead critical projects such as infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and cloud adoption initiatives.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for system security, automation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead infrastructure engineers, guiding them on complex technical issues and promoting skill development.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams, such as application developers and database administrators, to align infrastructure services with organizational needs.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and implement measures to mitigate risks.
  • Establish and maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, recommending tools and strategies to improve operational efficiency.
  • Drive automation initiatives to streamline infrastructure management tasks and reduce manual effort.
Qualifications
  • 8-10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, including hands-on experience with servers, networks, and cloud environments.
  • At least 3-5 years in a leadership role, managing or mentoring a team of engineers.
  • Proven success in leading large-scale infrastructure projects, such as data centre migrations or cloud transformations.
  • System Administration: Advanced expertise in managing Windows/Linux server environments, including patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Virtualization: Proficiency with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar platforms.
  • Monitoring Solutions: Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Nagios, Splunk, or SolarWinds.
  • Cloud Platforms: Good understanding of cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), including IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid models.
  • Automation Tools: Familiarity with tools like Ansible, Terraform, or PowerShell for infrastructure automation and configuration management.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates for automating infrastructure deployment and management.
