Join a globally recognized, digitally native, direct-to-consumer retail brand headquartered in London.

We're looking for an experiencedHR Managerto join them remotely on a fixed-term12-month contract for servicesbasis, working20 hoursper week, covering maternity leave.

This is a hands-on, generalist role that blends leadership with day-to-day HR operations and provides strategic guidance.

You will take ownership of all HR activities, manage a remote HR Coordinator, and support both the UK and South Africa-based teams.Proven experience working with UK businesses and a solid understanding of UK employment law is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • HR Leadership : Lead and deliver all HR activities across the business during maternity cover.
  • Team Management : Manage, mentor, and support the remote HR Coordinator.
  • Talent Lifecycle : Lead recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
  • Culture & Engagement : Lead employee engagement, motivation, and retention initiatives.
  • Compliance : Ensure legal compliance across all HR activities in the UK and in South Africa.
  • Administration : Compile and coordinate payroll.

Project manage performance review cycles and champion professional development.

Report to senior management with HR metrics and insights to support decision-making.

Act as a trusted point of contact for senior management, all employees, and contractors.

What We're Looking For (Essential)

Experience working with UK businesses and sound knowledge ofUK employment law and legislation.

Proven experience as anHR Manager or senior HR generalistin a small or medium-size business.

Experience managingremote teamsand coordinating across time zones.

Hands-on, proactive approach, comfortable with a "roll-up-your-sleeves" mentality.

Extremely personable, with the ability to build connections and foster team engagement remotely.
